Who we are
Lewisham Worker Centre is a campaign for a Worker Centre in Lewisham, run by a coalition of local organisations. The data controller for information collected through this website is {{DATA_CONTROLLER}}. You can contact us about your data at hello@lewishamworkercentre.com.
What we collect
When you sign the petition we collect the details you enter in the form:
- your name and email address
- your postcode, so we can show the council how many signers live in Lewisham
- your phone number, if you choose to give it
- whether you ticked the box to volunteer
- whether you agreed to receive emails from us
If you volunteer, we may ask for a few more details later, such as when you're free and how you'd like to help, and keep brief notes of conversations with our organisers.
How we use it
- To count your signature and present the petition to Lewisham Council. {{TODO: decide exactly what is handed to the council, for example names and postcodes only, never email addresses.}}
- To send you updates about the campaign, if you agreed to hear from us. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- If you ticked the volunteer box, to contact you about getting involved.
We will never sell your data.
Our lawful basis
Supporting a campaign like this can reveal your political opinions, which UK data protection law treats as sensitive ("special category") information. We rely on your consent, which you give when you submit the form. Who we share it with

- Our email provider holds any messages you send to hello@lewishamworkercentre.com.
- Lewisham Council receives the petition, as described above.
We don't share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while the campaign is active and for {{RETENTION_PERIOD}} after it ends, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Cookies and website statistics
This website doesn't set any cookies of its own. We count visits with GoatCounter, which uses no cookies and collects no personal information. The petition form is provided by Action Network and may set cookies it needs to work; see Action Network's privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it
- ask us to delete it
- withdraw your consent at any time
- object to how we use it
